This wood dowel soap dish uses spaced wooden rails to support a bar while allowing air to circulate around more of its surface. The open design gives excess water a route to drain away between uses and can also serve as a drying rest for a small natural sea sponge.

Using the Soap Dish

Place the dish on a stable surface where water passing between the dowels can drain away. Rest one soap bar or small sponge across the raised rails. Avoid allowing water to pool around or underneath the wood, and give both the item and the dish time to dry between uses.

Cleaning and Wood Care

Remove soap residue from between the dowels with a damp cloth or a quick rinse, then wipe the dish dry. Do not leave the wood soaking in a sink, shower or container of water. Allow all surfaces to air-dry completely, and move the dish periodically so moisture does not remain trapped underneath. Discontinue use if the wood cracks, splinters or develops a rough surface.
