The Tropical Sponge Sampler mix is the perfect way to experience several different types of sponges. Mix typically includes cuttings of wool, yellow, grass, finger and silk sponge. Great for arts and crafts and faux painting. Image shows sampler mix bag and layout of contents of another sampler. Bag is 5″ – 6″ and cuttings range from 1″ – 4″
Caribbean Grass Sponge: Grass sponges are soft, fairly absorbent and make for a great craft sponge. Their texture is very fine, so for sponge painting they are not the best choice (wool sponges have the best patterns).
For the person who has everything, these are beautiful & rare, uncut wool sponges. Choose from Prime or Rock Island wool sponges and two different sizes. Be aware that the large 6-7″ forms are absolutely HUGE sponges and will take a significant time to dry between usage.
Giant yellow display sponge. These sponges are yellow sponges that are simply too beautiful and perfect to cut into bath sized pieces. If you have a showplace bath, or a nautically themed room, this is another great sponge to get.
Yellow Sea Sponge: The name comes from its beautiful bright yellow color. It’s firm, absorbent and durable. Yellow sponges are a multi-use sponge and make for a great craft sponge. Select from a variety of sized cuts for your project.
Uncut Elephant Ear Sponge. Most people never see it in its actual form. This variety is harvested in the South Pacific. Choose from a small or large sizes. Use as a decorative sponge, or if you are handy with scissors, cut your own craft sponges from whole ear sponge.
Elephant ear sponge is a flat sponge, which artists love because of their smooth surface on one side, and rough surface on the other. They are typically used in painting and pottery as the irregular texture of these art sponges create a nice variety of shapes on the painting surface.
