Egyptian Loofah

Description

An Egyptian loofah is a natural plant-fiber sponge valued for its generous size and open, flexible texture. Our loofahs are available as convenient 4-inch and 6-inch cuts or as a full-length piece that typically measures 18 to 22 inches.

Choose the right Egyptian loofah size

• 4-inch cut: a compact option for bathing, cleaning suitable surfaces or adding to a handmade soap project.
• 6-inch bath size: provides more surface area for shower and bath use while remaining easy to hold.
• 18–22-inch full length: best when you want a whole loofah to cut into several custom-size pieces.

Lengths and diameters are approximate because each loofah grows naturally. Color, shape, fiber density and texture will vary from piece to piece. Full-length loofahs ship partially compressed and expand toward their natural shape after soaking.

How to prepare and care for your loofah

Soak the loofah in warm water until it softens, then add soap or body wash and use comfortable, gentle pressure. Rinse thoroughly after use, squeeze out excess water without twisting aggressively and hang it in a well-ventilated place to dry completely.

Do not share a body-use loofah. Keep any piece used for household cleaning separate from bath pieces, and replace it if it develops a persistent odor, discoloration or begins to break down. If you cut a full-length loofah, work while it is dry with clean, sharp scissors or a suitable knife on a stable surface, keeping your hands clear of the cutting path.
