How to Choose a Natural Loofah
Start with where and how you plan to use it. A whole or cut loofah works well for larger areas of the body. A mitt or handled scrubber is easier to grip and can help reach the back. Small facial discs offer more control, but facial skin is delicate, so use very light pressure and stop if irritation develops. Soap holsters and flatter pieces are useful for holding soap or cleaning around the home.
Natural variation is normal. Because loofahs come from plants, their color, shape, density, and texture will not be perfectly uniform. If a new sponge feels firmer than you prefer, soak it in warm water before use and let the water soften the fibers.
